Internet Protocol :The Internet Protocol (IP) is the method or protocol by which data is sent from one computer to another on the Internet. The Web is one of several ways to retrieve information from the Internet.Different types of internet connections are called as Protocols. In today’s era IPv6 protocol is in used. IPv6 replaces the 32bit addressing scheme with one that is 128 bit long. Most commonly used protocols on the Internet are :-

File Transfer Protocol(FTP):– FTP refers to a process of transferring a file from one computer to another. FTP is commonly used for uploading a web page to a web server so that it may be seen on the World Wide Web.

Telnet :-  It is used for log in to a remote computer just as you would if you were there. Using this protocol requires special software.

Gopher :-It is a menu-based program that enables you to browse for information without knowing where the material is located. This protocol isn’t widely used anymore.

Internet Address : “IP” stands for Internet Protocol, so an IP address is an Internet Protocol address. An IP address refers to one unique address which is usually assigned to a host. IP addresses can be either static or dynamic.

Internet Addressing: IP addressing is the IP address scheme used in Internet Protocol. An important part of all networking protocols is the addressing scheme. Assigning an IP address (e.g., 192.168.0.1) is a simple as selecting one which is not used within the given network addresses.
